EDUCATION: A graduate of the University of Oregon with a degree in Psychology (1971). A Juris Doctor degree from the University of Oregon School of Law (1974). One year post-doctoral study in Constitutional Law at the Simon Greenleaf School of Law in Anaheim, California (1984).

PERSONAL: Born in Seaside, Oregon and raised in Athena, Oregon. My wife, Irene, and I have three wonderful boys, Christopher, Clayton and Caspian, who are all sixth-generation Oregonians.
